Britney Spears’ father renounced custody of her
The father of the singer Britney Spears, Jamie Spears, agreed to give up custody of her and filed a petition to do so with the Los Angeles Supreme Court, Variety reported.
Jamie Spears’ lawyer said that the reason for his departure was “a public battle with his daughter.” At the same time, according to him, “there are no real grounds” for refusing guardianship. “It is highly debatable whether a change of guardian is currently the best solution for Ms. Spears,” says the document, cited by Variety.
Britney Spears has been under her father’s care since 2008. He was made the singer’s guardian after she went to a psychiatric clinic and lost her parental rights.
