The world’s population has reached 8 billion people. This comes from the Countrymetrics project, which does online calculations based on UN information.
By 18:00 on August 15, the world’s population is estimated at more than 8 billion and 9 million people. It is noted that there are more men than women – 4.041 billion against 3.968 billion.
More than a third of people live in China and India. The population of each of these countries exceeds 1.4 billion people. Residents of China are 18.18% of people, residents of India – 17.72%.
The USA, Indonesia, Pakistan, Nigeria, Brazil, Bangladesh, Russia and Mexico are among the top 10 most populous countries in the world. It is reported that more than 146 million people live in Russia – this is 1.82% of the world’s population.
The site also lists the most common causes of death in 2022 as coronary heart disease (a disease caused by a mismatch between the heart muscle’s oxygen demand and its delivery, leading to heart dysfunction – Ed.), stroke, and lower respiratory tract infections. They killed 5.9 million, 4.2 million and 2.1 million people, respectively.
