Chinese tennis player who disappeared after sexual assault allegations gets in touch

Two Grand Slam doubles champion from China, Peng Shuai, who accused former Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli of sexually assaulting former Chinese Deputy Prime Minister Zhang Gaoli for over a week and a half, sent an email to WTA chief Steve Simon, according to state-run Chinese news channel CGTNю

“Hello everyone, this is Peng Shuai. I want to comment on the latest news, in particular, published on the official website of the WTA without my consent. The news of sexual assault is not true. I was not lost or in danger. I was just relaxing at home, everything is fine. Thanks again for taking care of me.
