A talented child is talented in everything. Art has no limits. And this is proved by the heroine of our issue, Lady Kira. This girl repeatedly took part in vocal competitions, where she impressed everyone with her singing. Moreover, Kira popularizes the work of Ukrainian poets and poetesses. We talked to Lady Kira and learned more about her creative path.
Hi, Kira. You are still quite young, tell me, is art a job or a hobby for you?
Of course, this is a hobby. Art is my world, which I create for myself. But the more people know me, the more they expect something new from me, something that can impress or surprise, the more I put an effort into it. But I am always so pleased with a good result that I immediately want to create something new again.
You devote a lot of time to poetry, who inspires you? Who do you look up to and want to emulate?
Of course, I have those whom I adore and whom I particularly admire. I am probably not old enough to be deeply familiar with the life and work of many poets. But among my favorites today is undoubtedly Lina Kostenko. I know about ten of her poems by heart.
Also, the work of Inella Ogneva, a young poetess from Bucha, who left us at the age of twenty due to an incurable disease, is very close to me. Her poems, which I know a lot of, fascinate me, just as she herself fascinates me. Her mother and I communicate, and I help popularize her daughter’s work.
At the age of 5, you already knew more than 20 adult poems, who works with you at home?
When it was first noticed that I could read by heart some adult poems like “Contra spem spero!” by Lesya Ukrainka, “I was thirteen” by Taras Shevchenko, “Why do you appear to me in a dream” by Ivan Franko, I was not yet five years old. But my mother always read something to me in the evenings, and I memorized it. Later, friends advised me to study more seriously to develop these abilities, so rhetoric classes began.
Which vocal competition was the most memorable for you and why?
Apparently, “Ukraine unites the world.” Because there was a very star-studded jury there: the head of the jury Ada Rogovtseva, many famous actors whom I had seen before in films and on television.
Do you have a favorite subject at school? Do you have many girlfriends?
I like mathematics more than anything. I have many girlfriends, but I communicate more with boys. I like their entertainments.
If you had to choose between music and poetry, what would you choose?!
I would choose music: playing the piano and singing.
