Floods cover Venice due to a number of climatic factors
St. Mark’s Square in Venice, Italy, was covered by “high water”, which in some places caused flooding up to a meter deep. This was reported by Reuters.
It is noted that on Monday night, tourists had to wander the central location of the Italian city almost knee-deep in water.
“High water” usually occurs in Venice in autumn and winter, in particular, the floods in November 2019 caused the city losses of millions of euros.
Floods cover Venice due to a number of climatic factors, including global sea level rise, unusually high tides and subsidence, which has led to a drop in land in the city.
