Renowned music video director Tanu Muiño has won a prestigious award at the MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2025. Her video for Lady Gaga’s song “Disease” triumphed in the “Best Video by a Solo Artist” category.
In the video, Lady Gaga delves into a symbolic battle with her “inner demons,” encountering different versions of herself that embody her deepest fears and emotions. The video has already garnered over 28 million views on YouTube.
MTV VMAJ is the Japanese edition of the prestigious MTV Video Music Awards, organized by MTV Japan since 2002. The awards recognize the best music videos of the year, highlighting outstanding directors, artists, and creative teams.
The Ukrainian director has long collaborated with global music stars. She has created music videos for Dua Lipa, Cardi B, Harry Styles, The Weeknd, Sam Smith, Jennifer Lopez, Foals, Dorofeeva, and many others. One of her recent projects includes a video for legendary rock musician Lenny Kravitz.
