Word of the year 2022 according to the Oxford Dictionary

The Oxford Dictionary has named “goblin mode” as its word of the year 2022. This is how you can characterize the type of behavior after the removal of covid restrictions, when a person is lazy, untidy, selfish and rejects social norms and expectations.

“The expression seemed to reflect the mood of people who rejected the idea of a return to normality or rebelled against increasingly unattainable aesthetic standards,” the Oxford English Dictionary elaborates.
