Flowers blooming on dresses and birds proudly perched on headdresses – Paris Couture Fashion Week began with magic, and the Shiaparelli catwalk turned into a real Garden of Eden. Yes, in just a couple of seasons Daniel Roseberry made Shiaparelli great again and he obviously does not plan to stop.
In the new collection, the creative director of the brand switched from anatomy to nature. And it’s not just that. Elsa Schiaparelli herself was inspired by the plant world, and as a child she decided to plant flower seeds in her mouth, nose and ears. “If only flowers would grow on her face, she would become the only one in the world,” Elsa wrote in her autobiography “My Shocking Life.”
The prank failed, and the doctors had to save the girl from suffocation. But the thoughts of unity with nature have not gone away – references now and then appeared on Schiaparelli’s dresses and headdresses.
In the new collection, Roseberry has worked with the rich heritage of the brand and created unique works of art (it would be hard to call the images from the show just clothes). So on the podium appeared bizarre hats, earrings resembling a vine and dresses embroidered with flowers.
But not by nature alone – the Schiaparelli collection has become another ode to the female body. The designer focused on bare chest and extremely low waist. And it seems that very soon the masterpieces created by Roseberry will captivate the red carpets of the most important events and awards very soon.\
