Julia Roberts to Receive Icon Award for Cultural Contribution

Julia Roberts will receive an influential award for her acting career. Deadline reported that the actress will be honored with an Icon Award for “an artist whose career has had a global impact on culture.” The Academy Museum Of Motion Pictures annual gala will take place this fall, where Roberts will be honored with the award.

In 1988, the actress made her debut in the title role. She played in the romantic comedy Mystery Pizza. By the way, then she managed to be remembered by the audience thanks to her charming smile and the charm that her heroine radiated from the movie screen. For her role in the film “Steel Magnolias” (1989), Roberts received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress and was even nominated for an Oscar.

Julia Roberts has repeatedly received recognition for her film work. In 2001, the actress received her first and so far only Oscar for her role in the film Erin Brockovich, and Roberts also won the Golden Globe Award more than once and was nominated for BAFTA and Emmy.
