TMZ reports that on Monday, A$AP Rocky was officially charged with assaulting his former friend, musician Terell Efron, who performs under the pseudonym A$AP Relli.
“Firing a weapon in a public place is a serious offense that could end in tragic consequences not only for the victim, but also for innocent bystanders who visited Hollywood. My office has conducted a thorough examination of the evidence in this case and has determined that the addition of a special firearms charge is warranted,” the Los Angeles attorney’s office said in a statement.
A$AP Rocky will appear in court on Wednesday. According to Rolling Stone, if the rapper’s guilt is proven, he faces up to 9 years in prison.
Recall, Terell Efron claims that on November 6, A$AP Rocky “lured” him to a little-known place in Hollywood to discuss differences. The victim claims that during the conversation, Rakim took out a gun and shot him three times. According to Efron, he received physical and emotional injuries. He is seeking damages of at least $25,000.
