The opening ceremony of the Olympics will take place in the capital of Japan today.

The games will run until August 8 and are reopening despite an increase in coronavirus infections in Japan.
The state of emergency in Tokyo will continue during the Olympics, most of which will be held without spectators, including the opening ceremony, it will be attended by only 950 people. Official guests include US First Lady Jill Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron.
Over the past day, 19 people associated with the Tokyo Olympics have tested positive for coronavirus, the Games Organizing Committee said on Friday.
There are three athletes, three journalists, 10 members of Olympic delegations from various countries and three people from the service staff.
