Terry Gilliam to come to the Odessa International Film Festival

The cult British director Terry Gilliam will come to the 12th Odessa International Film Festival in August 2021.

This was reported on the OIFF Facebook page.

It is noted that the festival will screen six films by the director as part of the program “In Honor of Terry Gilliam”:

– Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life (1983)

– Brazil (1985)

– The Fisher King (1991)

– Twelve Monkeys (1995)

– Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998)

– The Man Who Killed Don Quixote (2018)

There will also be a creative meeting with Terry Gilliam and his master class within the OIFF.

We should note that Terry Gilliam began his career as an animator, joining the cult comedy group Monty Python. He later switched to directing, however, retaining the visual effects, sometimes on the verge of hallucinations, as one of the main features of his work. Due to this, he is considered one of the main visionary directors of today. During his career, Gilliam received many prestigious nominations, including “Oscar”, “Golden Globe” and BAFTA, however, he did not get awards often.
