Actress Charlize Theron is producing a horror film based on “The Final Girl Support Group” by The New York Times journalist Grady Hendrix for HBO Max.
The plot of the series revolves around a therapeutic support group for female survivors of the massacre as they face a new threat. According to Hendrix, in the novel, he tried to destroy the stereotypical image of the “last surviving girl” from the horror, making it more realistic.
A.J. Dix, Beth Kono, Irene Yeung and Adam Goldworm , as well as Grady Hendrix himself will work with Theron on the series. The date of the premiere will be announced later.
