Taliban execute civilians and military

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet received “heartbreaking and credible reports” of grave human rights abuses in Afghanistan.

According to her, the Taliban are executing civilians and soldiers.

“We have received credible reports of grave violations of international humanitarian law and human rights violations in many areas under Taliban control. These include, inter alia, executions of civilians and surrendering Afghan National Security Forces,” Bachelet said in a statement.

According to her, the UN is also aware of the restriction of women’s rights, including their right to free movement and the right of girls to attend school, the recruitment of children into soldiers and the suppression of peaceful protests.
