Ukraine has lost one of its brightest souls. At just 38 years old, Mykhailo Klymenko — singer, songwriter, and the founder and frontman of the band ADAM — has passed away. His songs, including “Slowly” and “Just the Way You Are,” became the soundtracks of love for thousands of hearts.

Klymenko had been fighting a severe illness for months — tuberculous meningitis. After long weeks of treatment, time in intensive care, and a coma, his heart stopped on the morning of December 7. The tragic news was shared by his wife, Oleksandra Norova:
“Sadly, this morning Mysha’s kind heart stopped beating. Information about the farewell will follow…”
Earlier this fall, his concerts in Lviv, Chernivtsi, and Dnipro were canceled as fans across the country prayed for his life. Family, friends, and colleagues appealed for support, as each day of treatment cost tens of thousands of hryvnias. It was a desperate, honest, and painful fight.
Mykhailo was born on July 20, 1987, in Hostomel. In 2015, together with his wife, he founded ADAM — not just a musical project, but a creative union, a family, and a love story they lived both on stage and in life. The couple had been together since 2009 and were raising two children.
Today, Ukraine’s entire music community is in mourning.
But his voice, his lyrics, and his love will remain with us forever.
Rest in peace. Deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.
