Alina Polishchuk is building the ONE LUXY brand, creating new collections, and preparing to become a mother for the second time. As she looks ahead to this new chapter, she is learning to delegate, finding inspiration in her own transformation, and embracing a life that brings together motherhood, family, and professional fulfillment. In this interview, Alina opens up about her family rhythm, the evolution of her brand, and the life she hopes to create for herself and those closest to her.
You are growing your own business while preparing to become a mother for the second time. How has motherhood influenced your ambitions, your approach to work, and your definition of success?
Even before my pregnancy, I had gradually begun delegating some of the processes I used to handle entirely on my own. Now, we are learning to work even more independently: even from a distance, I collaborate with our patternmaker and technical designer to create new collections, discuss details, and refine each design. And I can see that it works. I believe this period will make our team even stronger.
My approach to work has not changed dramatically, but I have noticed something interesting: my pregnancy has begun to find its way into my collections. While dresses and more elegant evening looks once dominated, there is now much more comfortable clothing—sport-chic pieces, stylish suits, and designs for everyday wear. Perhaps ONE LUXY is evolving along with me. Right now, I feel especially drawn to creating clothes that allow a woman to live her real life—to feel beautiful and confident while remaining completely comfortable.
With your husband and son by your side—and your family soon to grow—how do you maintain a balance between professional growth, family responsibilities, and your own needs?
To be honest, balance has felt quite natural to me for a long time. I have learned to divide my time clearly and avoid blending all my roles into one. Each of us has a full life: my son has school, soccer, and extracurricular activities; my husband has his own business and work; and I have my brand and team.
Evenings are our family time. We come together at home, have dinner, talk, spend time together, and simply enjoy one another’s company. To me, balance means resisting the urge to be everywhere at once and being fully present wherever you are. When I am working, I am completely immersed in my work. When I am with my family, I am fully with them. That rhythm feels very comfortable to me.
How do you envision yourself in this new chapter—as an entrepreneur, a wife, and a mother of two? What dreams and goals are shaping your path forward today?
Of course, I am a little nervous. I think that is a completely natural feeling when facing such significant change. At the same time, I am filled with a beautiful sense of anticipation for this new chapter in our lives.
For me, children always bring more: more love, more care, more responsibility, and a deeper sense of meaning. I find it fascinating to observe myself at this moment because I understand that I will soon be a mother of two, yet my love for my work, my ambitions, and my desire to keep growing are not going anywhere.
I want to grow alongside my family: to develop ONE LUXY, create compelling collections, expand the brand, travel, discover the world with my children, and do it all without losing sight of who I am as a woman. I do not want to choose between motherhood, family, and personal fulfillment. I like to think of them as different parts of one expansive life—a life I am creating for myself.
And perhaps my greatest dream right now is very simple: that a few years from now, I will look at my life and think, “God, I truly love what we have created.”
