Luca Guadagnino to direct ‘Call Me By Your Name” sequel

As recently as last year, Call Me By Your Name fans have been waiting and hoping for a sequel to the acclaimed teen drama to come out soon. But then director Luca Guadagnino said that he was not planning a sequel to the picture. “Truth be told, my heart is still there, but I’m currently working on a new film and hopefully will be directing Scarface soon. I have a lot of projects so I will focus on this side of the Atlantic.” And, it seems, he is still ready to proceed with the continuation of the film.

The day before, the director told reporters about this during the Telluride film festival. He shared his idea for a sequel to Call Me By Your Name.

“It will be more like the chronicle of the hero Elio, the chronicle of a boy becoming a man. That’s exactly what I want to do.” Luca Guadagnino confirmed.

It is not yet clear whether the controversial Armie Hammer will be filmed. Now the actor has been accused of abuse and violence against his ex-girlfriend Effy from 2016 to 2020. She leaked their correspondence with the fantasies of the actor and stated that he was going to kill her. Another former star, Courtney Vucekovich, also claimed that Hammer was abusive to her. At the same time, Army denied everything.
