Coronavirus in the world: millions of extra deaths in India, 50 million infections in Europe

The excess deaths in India during the pandemic, according to estimates by American and Indian experts, can be almost five million, and this is an order of magnitude more than the official number of deaths from covid in the country.

According to official statistics, 415 thousand people have died from the coronavirus in India, but many experts, like the local press, say that the authorities are simply not able to notice and take into account all deaths from covid, especially in rural areas where hundreds of millions of Indians live.

Europe has become the first part of the world where the number of coronavirus infections has exceeded 50 million, according to Reuters, which has its own calculations.
