Sofiia Nersesian and Svitlana Tarabarova Unveil Their New Duet, “Zapletu Vinochok”

Sofiia Nersesian and Svitlana Tarabarova have joined voices on “Zapletu Vinochok,” a luminous song of love, protection, and the warmth of family, carrying heartfelt wishes for the children of Ukraine.

The track was written by Svitlana Tarabarova, a Ukrainian singer, songwriter, and music producer for Ukraine’s Junior Eurovision National Selection. Tarabarova’s deeply personal experience of motherhood shaped the song’s emotional tone. Joining her on the duet is Sofiia Nersesian, the runner-up at the 2025 Junior Eurovision Song Contest and winner of the competition’s public vote.

Their creative partnership began during Ukraine’s 2024 Junior Eurovision National Selection. As part of the selection process, Tarabarova was assigned to write Nersesian’s competition entry, “Motanka.”

Tarabarova later supported the young singer at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Georgia, where Nersesian asked her to write another powerful song. The two artists ultimately decided to perform it together.

“When two strong creative personalities meet, the result is usually either an explosion or an incredible synergy. Sofiia and I found that synergy,” Tarabarova says. “While we were still in Georgia, she asked me to write a powerful song for her. I wanted to weave love, protection, good fortune, and our greatest wish for our children—peaceful, free skies—into the music. That is how ‘Zapletu Vinochok’ was born.”

At the heart of the song is the image of a traditional Ukrainian flower wreath, with each element carrying its own symbolic meaning. Periwinkle represents devotion, chamomile evokes tenderness, and poppy blossoms signify a long life. Colorful ribbons lend the wreath strength, while shades of blue symbolize peaceful, free skies.

“I will weave, oh, I will weave happiness into your hair, so that life may treat you well,” the artists sing.

“The moment I heard the song, I felt its warmth,” Nersesian says. “It is about the happiness we wish for every child. I am so glad that this time, Svitlana and I are singing together.”

The duet brings together Tarabarova’s maternal warmth and tenderness with the sincerity and crystalline clarity of Nersesian’s voice. Together, they transform “Zapletu Vinochok” into a musical blessing for Ukrainian families, filled with wishes of love, protection, and good fortune.

The exclusive live premiere of “Zapletu Vinochok” will take place on September 26 during the final of Ukraine’s 2026 Junior Eurovision National Selection. That evening, Ukrainian audiences will see and hear Tarabarova and Nersesian perform the song together live for the first time.

“Zapletu Vinochok” is now available on all major streaming platforms.
