In the portrait, the king is depicted in a classic suit and with a bracelet on his arm. It is reported that the artist wrote the work in just two weeks, while the king himself did not participate in it. Alastair only had the opportunity to observe the work of the monarch at one of the receptions at Buckingham Palace. “It is an incredible honor and great responsibility to create a portrait of a person who means so much to so many people. I wanted to capture the warmth, sensitivity and empathy that manifested in his interactions with people,” he said.
