On August 22, the Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts (Schaumburg, Illinois) will host a unique musical event — the large-scale charity cultural and artistic project “The Voice of Freedom”, dedicated to Ukraine’s Independence Day.
About the Event
“The Voice of Freedom” brings audiences into the heart of Ukrainian song heritage: from the immortal works of Ivasiuk, Mozgovyi, Poklad, Hnatyuk, and other classics — to the contemporary voices of the new Ukraine.
This is not just a concert, but a live cultural and educational project that reveals the depth and beauty of Ukrainian music to the U.S. community and American guests. The audience will enjoy modern arrangements, a live band, a string quartet, and unforgettable voices.
For the First Time in the U.S.
Ukrainian songs that have become symbols of resilience will be performed in a new way. A special highlight will be the performance of Honored Artist of Ukraine Oleg Shak — a former member of the legendary “Smerichka,” where he once performed alongside Nazariy Yaremchuk. His presence on stage is a bridge between generations and a living cultural memory.
