Через епідемію коронавіруса наші потреби за пірамідою Маслоу скотилися до базових рівнів – задоволення фізіологічних потреб і потреби в безпеці. Буквально за місяць ми перестали думати про щось крім епідемії. Всіх турбує тільки те, як би не підхопити чуму 2020 року. Ми ділимося один з одним тим, хто і скільки купив гречки й туалетного паперу, як і де будемо перечікувати неспокійний час. Ми думаємо про виживання і дивимося тільки під ноги. Це стосується всього населення світу, незалежно від соціального рівня, споживчих переваг, віку чи статі. Ми зовсім забули про ті красиві концепції та ідеї, які володіли нашими умами останні роки. В економіці увагу також зосереджено на самих базових проблемах: оцінці понесеного та очікуваного збитку, заходах щодо підтримки найбільш постраждалих галузей, виплати заробітної плати та безробіття. Спробуймо трохи підняти голову, озирнутися і поглянути, що відбувається і що чекає локомотив останніх років – економіку спільного споживання.

Шерінг – спільне користування товарами та послугами замість одноосібного володіння і приватної власності. Вже стали класичними короткострокова оренда квартир, автомобілів та іншого транспорту, наприклад, електросамокатів і велосипедів, якими завалені всі європейські міста. Це коворкінг (WeWork) і сервіси для попутників (Uber Pool або BlaBlaCar). Це надання послуг, оренда і купівля одягу з рук і багато іншого. «Зашерено» виявилося практично всіе.

В Україні за 2019 ринок шерінга майже досяг 200 млрд грн, збільшившись в півтора раза. Шерінг вже охрестили новим комунізмом, вбивцею капіталізму, в якому власність базовий принцип. Феномен вибухового зростання шерінга пояснюють іншими цінностями покоління мілленіалів, яким важливо не володіти, а користуватися.

З одного боку, в умовах поширення вірусу й наближення економічної кризи попит на спільне використання повинен був вирости. Шерінг дає можливість заощадити, що під час кризи вкрай актуально. Епідемія та економічна криза стануть справжнім випробуванням для всієї здавалося б успішної шерінг-галузі. І на це є ряд причин.

Перша причина – вірус, і як наслідок, соціальне дистанціювання, що вже увійшло в звичку. Ми намагаємося триматися якомога далі від інших людей на вулиці, не їхати в ліфті з ще з кимось, не вітаємося за руку та просимо кур’єра просто залишити їжу біля дверей і не заходити додому. Ми боїмося доторкатися до ручки дверей або кнопки ліфта. Одним словом, ми намагаємося триматися від усього, що не наше, якомога далі.

Вірус починає масово міняти ставлення до всього, що знаходиться в загальному, загальнодоступному користуванні. Чи готові ви їздити в машині, в якій до цього їздила ще купа людей? Чи готові ви жити у квартирі, де вчора ще хтось жив? Працювати в коворкінгу поруч з людиною, яку ви зовсім не знаєте? Мати на собі одяг, який хтось носив до вас? І якщо у випадку з готелем можна хоч мінімально розраховувати на стандарти якості серйозного бренду та в результаті – чистоту номера, то в разі з шерінгом ви купуєте кота в мішку.

Ми зараз спостерігаємо зсув свідомості в бік гігієни. Люди обливаються з ніг до голови санітайзером та іншими засобами. Це створює у них ілюзію захищеності. Але як ти можеш бути захищений, якщо знаходишся в чужій квартирі, машині або орендованій сукні. Або як ти можеш бути впевнений в офіціанті або кухарі, якого найняв на вечір. Паніка, пов’язана з COVID-19, ставить безпеку в основу людських пріоритетів. Подібний поворот спостерігається і в поведінковій шкалі. Неприйняття всього чужого може стати безумовним рефлексом, якщо небезпека для здоров’я збережеться надовго.

Друга причина. Ставка в шерінгових моделях зроблена першою чергою на середній клас і покоління мілленіалів. Через кризу ці сегменти постраждають сильніше за все. Не буде такого вибухового зростання призначеної для користувача бази як раніше, що ще більше розчарує інвесторів.

Третя причина. Багато шерингових проєктів – це стартапи. Вони збиткові й живуть на кошти інвесторів. Причому для виходу на окупність їм потрібні колосальні масштаби. Навіть найбільші з них – Uber, WeWork – досі в мінусі. Безліч шерінгових проєктів вже покинули ринок, не знайшовши нового раунду. А WeWork ще в першій половині 2019 року оголосив про збитки в $900 млн і провалив вихід на IPO. Інвестори вже тоді почали сумніватися в його перспективах. І це було, коли ринки були на рекордно високих значеннях і економіка стійко росла. Зараз же інвестори біжать від ризику. У шерінгових проєкт високий ризик просто не привернути наступний раунд і піти з ринку.

Однак, повернемося до причин появи економіки спільного споживання. Шерінг в моді не від хорошого життя і не тільки тому, що мілленіалам подобається брати від життя все і користуватися благами тут і зараз, а не збирати на них багато років. Основна причина бурхливого зростання шерінга – молодь бідна і людей занадто багато, щоб у всіх була своя. Так що користувачі шеринга і так все прекрасно розуміють, але у них немає вибору. В умовах кризи та в наступні роки відновлення фінансове становище багатьох людей сильно погіршиться, що і змусить економити на всьому, чому тільки можна. На мою думку, шерінгова економіка надалі буде розвиватися вкрай нерівномірно.

Найбільший сегмент шерінга, C2C-торгівля, тобто від людини до людини, буде розвиватися й далі. Люди продають і купують речі на OLX через спроби заощадити й в умовах кризи їх не буде це зупиняти. До того ж річ можна випрати або помити, – вона стала вашою.

Покоління мілленіалів виросло в період відносної економічної та політичної стабільності й ще не стикалося з кризою такого масштабу. Остання була в далекому 2008 році. Вони звикли брати від життя все, тут і зараз. У них менше накопичень, нерухомості, стабільності. І як компанія з низьким капіталом процвітає в спокійний час і банкрутує в кризу, так і покоління Y переживе цю кризу гірше решти. Це відіб’ється в їхній свідомості й свідомості наступного покоління. Стимулів володіти чимось, а не просто користуватися ним, стане більше. А приказка «мій дім, моя фортеця» заграє новими смислами.
