David Beckham will face World Cup in Qatar and earn £150m

Beckham will become Qatar’s ambassador and will receive 15 million pounds a year over the next 10 years.

The hosting of the World Cup in Qatar raises a lot of controversy due to the observance of human rights and the LGBT community. Beckham was assured that fans in Qatar would be safe and able to fly rainbow flags in stadiums. Before signing the contract, the ex-footballer consulted with his wife, singer Victoria Beckham. The former England player believes that hosting the World Cup in Qatar can make a big difference.

“David has always talked about the power of football as a force for good on many levels. As we reach the one year mark before the tournament, he will join the wider football community that will gather for the 2022 World Cup. He is waiting for a tournament that he thinks will be great,” said a spokeswoman for Beckham.

Qatar became the first Arab country to receive the right to host the World Cup. The tournament will run from November 21 to December 18, 2022.
