G20 leaders approve a global tax on corporations

The leaders of the world’s largest economies, the G20, have approved a major overhaul of global tax rules: the tax rate on international corporations from 2023 will be at least 15%.

The G20 countries supported the proposal of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

The 15% rate, according to G20 participants, will build a more stable tax system.

Leaders called on the OECD to prepare for new rules so that they can enter into force in 2023.
